NEXCON: Virtual Smart Manufacturing Conference
Worldwide field reports on the digitization of value creation and the latest technology trends in the field of industry 4.0 can be expected at the online conference NEXCON.
On March 5, 2020, NEXCON, the international online conference for smart manufacturing, will take place for the third time. For the first time there will also be speakers from North and South America. The event is the prelude to numerous other events on the platform of the same name.
Regardless of location, visitors to the event can – purely virtually – view 13 expert lectures and visit an exhibition hall online. Beyond that there is the possibility of networking internationally by Chat in the Networking Lounge.
While the focus of the event so far has been on digitisation activities in Germany and China, the inclusion of North and South America in March is intended to further promote the global exchange of knowledge. Carlos Santiago, Vice President Operations at Mercedes-Benz Trucks Brasil, will report on his path to the digital factory and BASF Vice President of Digitalization Production and Technology, Uwe Hinsen, will give insights into the digital transformation in the chemical company.
Virtual tour of the fair
NEXCON’s diverse repertoire of speakers includes speakers from Germany, China, Mexico and the USA from companies such as Microsoft, Schaeffler and Mabe. In addition to top-class speakers, companies can present themselves live in the exhibitor area. For the event a purely virtual fair environment is simulated, in which enterprises from the industry 4.0 range present their products and services. The encounter between the visitors and the exhibiting companies will be purely virtual instead of in a real exhibition hall – but no less personal. Chat offers the opportunity to exchange ideas with other participants and speakers, ask questions and make business contacts.
NEXCON is aimed at executives from the manufacturing industry as well as solution providers from the industry 4.0 sector. The organizers are convinced that the best way to network the community worldwide is via the Internet. Thomas Rohrbach, Managing Director at STAUFEN.DIGITAL NEONEX, on the vision behind the virtual trade fair:
“We want to dismantle financial and location-related hurdles and enable access to knowledge, global cooperation and exchange in the field of Smart Manufacturing in an uncomplicated way. NEXCON is a platform for knowledge democratisation and is also ecologically up-to-date.”
The online event on 5 March is the prelude to further conferences and offers on the NEXCON platform. Those who purchase a ticket for a fee can not only access the contents of the leading event for one month, but can also take part in three further regional conferences as well as various seminars and coaching sessions during the course of the year.
NEXCON’s partners include the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation, the Shanghai-based Jiao Tong University and the innovation consultancy IoT-One, which is also based there, the Mexican industry association Alianza 4.0 as well as STAUFEN AG and its branches in Brazil and China.
NEXCON went online for the first time in 2018. Registration for the event in 2020 is now possible online at www.nexcon.digital Conference topics can choose between free access with limited functionality and full access for 79 €. In addition, the organizer offers special group discounts for participation in NEXCON.
